In another dominant display, aided by a 30-point fourth quarter, NC State women’s basketball improved to 4-0 this season with a 96-48 victory over Charlotte. The Wolfpack picked up the win with a balanced offensive attack that included five athletes finishing in double figures and nine scoring at least six points.

NC State shot the ball at an elite clip Wednesday night, hitting 57.9 percent of its threes and 55.7 of its shots from the field overall. Senior forward Jada Boyd and junior guard Madison Hayes both led the team with 15 points, missing a combined 4 shots in an extremely efficient scoring performance.

Graduate student center River Baldwin also recorded 10 and 9 rebounds in just 14 minutes of play. This is the Pack’s third time in four games holding its opponent below 50 points. Charlotte made the NCAA Tournament last year.

The out of conference competition ramps up significantly after this week, with the team leaving the friendly confines of Reynolds Coliseum for a road matchup with the No. 3-ranked UConn Huskies on Nov. 20 at 1 p.m..

Quote of the day

This quote is from NC State offensive coordinator Tim Beck sharing his thoughts on Louisville’s defense.

“They’re kind of feast and famine,” Beck said. “They get a lot of tackles for loss, a lot of turnovers, a lot of sacks and they’ve given up some big plays. Sometimes that happens when you pressure.

“They’re good. They’re fast. They can run. They’re very multiple in terms of fronts and coverage. It’s going to be quite a challenge for our guys.”
