Nebraska Women’s Basketball has added former Maryland guard/forward Emily Fisher to its 2025-26 roster. Fisher announced her commitment on Instagram on Wednesday, April 16. The 6-foot-0 student-athlete is the Huskers’ third transfer portal addition.

Fisher, who has two seasons of eligibility remaining, averaged 1.7 points and 1.4 rebounds per game in 2024-25. She missed 11 games during the 2024-25 season due to a concussion. She returned to action on Jan. 20 vs. Texas.

Fisher recorded a season-high eight points against Nebraska in College Park, Md., last season. She shot 40% from the field, went 1-of-1 from three, and 3-of-4 at the free throw line.

As a freshman in 2023-24, the Libertyville, Ill. native averaged 2.6 points and 2.8 rebounds in 33 games. She shot 42% from field goal range.

“We had a strong relationship with Emily from her recruitment out of high school and believe that she fits perfectly with our tough, hard-nosed, gritty, hard-working culture here at Nebraska,” Nebraska Head Coach Amy Williams said. “She brings a versatility and a willingness to guard almost any position on the floor. We are excited to have her spend her remaining two years here in Lincoln.”

At Libertyville High School, Fisher was the No. 80 overall recruit by ESPN in the class of 2023. She averaged 13.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists as a senior. She was a 4A First Team All-State selection, a First Team All-Conference pick and a First Team All-Area honoree. Fisher is Libertyville’s all-time block leader with 100 career blocks.
