Nebraska Football: 20 more hires become official on Matt Rhule's staff
Matt Rhule’s entire Nebraska staff appears to be in place. With Signing Day now in the books and the calendar turning to Feb. 1, another 20 hires became official in the Husker football staff directory.
Back in December, Rhule made his first initial wave of support staff hires, with the primary focus on recruiting.
On Wednesday, another 20 hires became official, headlined by Chief of Staff Dr. Susan Elza from the UIL in Texas and Director of Football Nutrition Kristin Coggin, who came from South Carolina.
Also, several different analyst and graduate assistant jobs became official. Former Husker wide receiver Mike Williams is now listed as a graduate assistant. Other notable former player hires are South Dakota State and NFL fullback Mikey Daniel and Purdue defensive end Austin Larkin.
Both Daniel and Larkin will work in quality control positions.
Meanwhile, defensive coordinator Tony White added two support staff members from Syracuse. Josh Bringuel and Jack Potenza will work under White in defensive quality control positions, joining Kevin McGarry, who also came with White from Syracuse. McGarry was announced in December and is White’s senior defensive analyst.
Charlie Foley, the son of special teams coordinator Ed Foley is listed as a Football Operations Assitant. Charlie Foley worked under Rhule in Carolina.
In all, 10 members of the Scott Frost staff remain listed as part of Rhule’s operation, including Senior Offensive Analyst Ron Brown. 50 staff members are listed with Rhule in the football department. That number was 46 the day Rhule was hired.
