Seth Trimble 'Progressing Fast And Really Well'
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Seth Trimble first walked onto Roy Williams court after his arm injury — which he sustained on Nov. 9 — wearing a large white cast that covered his left forearm while his team faced Radford.
Trimble wore that cast on the sideline during each of North Carolina’s ensuing three games, but when the team went to Fort Myers for two games against St. Bonaventure and Michigan State, he instead wore a black brace around his hand and wrist area.
Hubert Davis offered an update on Trimble’s progress when asked on Monday, saying the timeline for his return isn’t yet known but that he’s working his way back.
“I don’t have a definitive answer in regards to when he’s going to come back, but he’s progressing fast and really well,” Davis said on Monday. “He’s shooting, he’s dribbling, he’s conditioning. And so it’s in a really good spot, and I’m looking forward to when he can get back out there on the floor.”
Trimble, UNC’s four-year senior with 104 career games under his belt, averaged 14.5 points, five rebounds and 3.5 assists as a starter in the team’s first two games before being sidelined. Trimble played 30 minutes per game and shot 44% from the floor. His last appearance was the team’s win against Kansas in early November.

Trimble underwent surgery on his left arm the day after sustaining his injury. His initial timeline was a reported six to eight weeks, sources told Inside Carolina last month.
North Carolina departs for Lexington on Monday, where it will face Kentucky on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. inside Rupp Arena. UNC is 6-1 on the season, including 4-1 without Trimble.
In his absence, Luka Bogavac has started alongside Kyan Evans in each of the last five games. Bogavac came off the bench in his first two games after being cleared about 30 minutes before the season opener.
“I think you’re always trying to figure out the team throughout the entire year, but I think for us, maybe even a little bit more,” Davis said. “Luka didn’t play in the first exhibition games, and so that was a team. Then he was eligible, ready to play the first game, that was a team. And then Seth got hurt in the last five games. This is a new team. And so when Seth comes back, another team. And so whether it’s December or today, we’re just always trying to get better, trying to grow.”
