According to multiple Blue & Gold sources, Nashville (Tenn.) Lipscomb Academy class of 2024 cornerback Kaleb Beasley is expected to officially visit Notre Dame for the weekend of Sept. 22, which is when the Fighting Irish host the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Beasley has been committed to the Tennessee Volunteers since last fall, but Notre Dame has far from given up its pursuit of the four-star talent. The Irish have a staff member at Beasley’s high school as much as NCAA rules allow, and they hosted him for an unofficial visit the weekend of April 1.

Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman even made it to see Beasley’s basketball game in January.

“The relationship is great with Coach [Mike] Mickens, Coach [Chris] O’Leary and Coach Freeman,” Beasley told Blue & Gold last August regarding his interest in Notre Dame. “It’s been great … I definitely love Coach Freeman; he knows how to connect with families and his players. It’s great.”

“The academic part, definitely,” Beasley said when asked about his favorite aspect about Notre Dame. “A lot of schools just focus on the football part, but graduating with a Notre Dame degree would be really big.”

While Beasley taking visits elsewhere is a good sign for other schools wanting to flip Beasley, the in-state Volunteers should still be considered the team to beat for him. Auburn is another school that Beasley still has interest in.

The 5-11.5, 168-pounder ranks as the No. 137 overall player and No. 17 cornerback nationally according to the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3’s own rankings have Beasley listed similarly, having him as the No. 154 prospect and No. 23 cornerback in the land.

The Industry Ranking lists him as the top recruit in the Volunteer State, while On3 has Beasley as the No. 4 player in Tennessee.

Notre Dame has two cornerback commits in Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller’s Karson Hobbs and Round Rock (Texas) High’s Leonard Moore.

Beasley has visited South Bend three times. He saw Notre Dame on the field in November 2021 and returned to campus for Irish Invasion last June, where he had an impressive outing, in addition to his April 1.

“It was awesome,” Kaleb Beasley previously said regarding his first visit in 2021. “The facilities and campus were so nice, and the coaches were all cool. The thing I liked most was that Notre Dame cares a lot about academics along with football.”
