For the first time since 2008, Notre Dame and Navy will square off at M&T Bank Stadium this fall, home of the Baltimore Ravens. On Thursday, ESPN announced times and networks for several “marquee matchups,” including the Irish and the Midshipmen. The game will be televised at noon ET on ABC or ESPN on Nov. 12.

This will be the 23rd meeting between the teams in Baltimore, and Notre Dame won the most recent contest there 27-21. In total, Notre Dame has won four straight games against Navy and nine of the last 10. The Irish lead the series 77-13-1 all-time.

Head coach Marcus Freeman and Co. should be a heavy favorite in the matchup once again, as Navy’s roster turnover this offseason was huge. Among the losses was leading tackler and linebacker Diego Fagot, who ironically has signed with the Ravens. The latest SP+ rankings have Navy 113th of 131 teams, and the Midshipmen went 4-8 in 2021.

They will likely have rising sophomore Tai Lavatai under center this fall. Backup Xavier Arline sat out spring football, as he is playing lacrosse. The quarterbacks threw just three passes last year against Notre Dame in a 34-6 loss in South Bend.

At this time, the only other Irish game on an ESPN family network is the Sept. 3 contest against Ohio State, which will air at 7:30 p.m. ET. ESPN’s pregame show College GameDay will also be present in Columbus.
