What a weekend for Notre Dame baseball.

The No. 16 Irish (15-5, 5-4 ACC) headed to fifth-ranked Florida State (16-11, 6-6) with their backs against the wall. They’d lost four consecutive ACC games, and the schedule does not get any easier. The team responded to the call with a sweep, handing the Seminoles their first series loss of the season.

Pitcher John Michael Bertrand got the Friday evening start and set a career-best strikeout total en route to a 2-0 win. Saturday’s series-clinching 5-4 victory involved a ninth-inning comeback courtesy of a Jared Miller single with two outs, and the final matchup on Sunday afternoon saw the bats come alive, as Notre Dame won 9-7 and Ryan Cole went 3-for-3 with three RBIs.

Next up, the Irish face Butler at home on Tuesday.

Blue & Gold’s Tyler Horka has a full recap of this weekend’s series here.
