LIVE UPDATES: Notre Dame baseball vs. No. 9 Texas; College World Series Game 1
For the first time in two decades, Notre Dame baseball will play in Omaha, Neb., for a shot at the national championship. The Irish take the field at Charles Schwab Stadium at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, and their first game of the College World Series is nationally televised on ESPN.
Notre Dame arrived in Omaha by taking both the Statesboro Regional and the Knoxville Super Regional. They went 3-0 in Statesboro, Ga., with two wins over Texas Tech and a victory over Georgia Southern. Last weekend in Knoxville, Tenn., the Irish downed No. 1 overall seed Tennessee, taking two of three games and punching a ticket to Omaha on Sunday afternoon.
