An impressive wire-to-wire 44-0 Notre Dame win over Boston College Saturday — the fifth consecutive victory for the Irish — provided plenty of game ball candidates to choose from.

Here are the five Irish players who most stood out at Notre Dame Stadium.

Cornerback Benjamin Morrison

What more needs to be said?

The future Freshman All-American recorded three interceptions against Boston College, the first of which helped Notre Dame to a 10-0 lead less than five minutes into the game, a scoring advantage that was never threatened.

Morrison’s 5 interceptions — all of which came in the last three games — lead the Irish and have changed the course of this season.

Running back Logan Diggs

The Irish sophomore led the team with 122 rushing yards that included a 51-yard carry on his first tote of the game, an 8.1-yard per-carry rushing average, and a 1-yard touchdown run in the first quarter that gave Notre Dame a 10-0 lead.

This was Diggs’ third 100-yard rushing performance this season.

Wide receiver Matt Salerno

The former walk-on made good on his Senior Day with 2 receptions for 20 yards that included a 1-yard touchdown grab, the first scoring catch of his career.

Salerno also added 30 yards on 2 punt returns, which included a 28-yard bring back.

Defensive end Isaiah Foskey

Playing his final game at Notre Dame Stadium, the Irish senior recorded a sack of BC quarterback Emmett Morehead on the final play of the first half.

The sack gave Foskey 25 for his career, which broke the all-time program record of 24.5 set by former Irish great Justin Tuck (2002-04).

Placekicker Blake Grupe

After missing three of his previous five field goals heading into the BC game, the graduate transfer went 3-for-3 on his tries Saturday in inclement weather.

Grupe made field goals of 26, 41 and 46 yards, and converted all 5 of his PATs.
