Fighting Irish verbal pledges from across the country are beginning their respective junior and senior seasons, and Blue & Gold is tracking the performances of the Notre Dame 2023 and 2024 commitments.

Here’s a breakdown of how the future Fighting Irish players fared over the weekend.

OL Sullivan Absher

Paved the way for Belmont (N.C.) South Point (3-0) to run for 256 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 42-4 rout of Rutherfordton (N.C.) R-S Central (1-2).

Next game: at Belmont (N.C.) Stuart W. Cramer (2-1) Sept. 16.


LB Jaiden Ausberry

Scored on a 2-yard touchdown run and recorded a handful of tackles in a 25-0 triumph for Baton Rouge (La.) University Lab (1-0) over Baton Rouge (La.) Woodlawn-B.R. (0-1).

Next game: at Metairie (La.) Archbishop Rummel (1-0) Sept. 9.


CB Micah Bell

Ran 18 times for 129 yards and a score to help lead Houston The Kinkaid School (1-1) to a 30-14 win against Tomball (Texas) Christian Home School (0-2).

LB Drayk Bowen

Notched 10 tackles (1 for loss) and broke up a pass in a 30-28 victory for Merrillville (Ind.) Andrean (1-2) over Crete (Ill.) Crete-Monee (0-2) … Ran 20 times for 97 yards and 2 touchdowns … Caught 2 passes for 60 yards and a score.

Official season stats: 34 total stops, 4.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack and 1 fumble recovery … 40 carries for 190 yards with 2 touchdowns and 3 receptions for 56 yards with 1 score.

S Peyton Bowen

Had four tackles as Denton (Texas) Guyer (2-0) cruised to a 44-14 win versus Aledo (Texas) High (0-2) … Guyer ranks as the No. 17 team nationally per MaxPreps.

Official season stats: 13 tackles, one tackle for loss and one interception.

RB Dylan Edwards

Totaled 191 rushing yards and 2 scores on 19 carries, plus 1 reception for 13 yards, but Derby (Kan.) High (0-1) fell 26-23 against Manhattan (Kan.) High (1-0) in overtime.

TE Cooper Flanagan

Caught 3 passes for 34 yards in a 24-21 setback for Concord (Calif.) De La Salle (1-1) against San Mateo (Calif.) Serra (2-0) … Had 3.5 tackles and 1 sack.

DL Devan Houstan

OL Charles Jagusah
