WATCH: Setting expectations for Riley Leonard, Notre Dame LT talk | Hey Horka!
The Hey Horka! BlueandGold.com message board mailbag column originates each week with a message board thread titled “Hey Horka!” Subscribers are prompted to ask Blue & Gold beat writer Tyler Horka questions about Notre Dame football. He answers all of them in the thread and in an article that publishes later in the week at BlueandGold.com.
Every Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET, Horka hosts a YouTube live show with coworker Jack Soble discussing in greater detail some of the most pressing questions from the thread. This week’s questions, from users whose Lou Somogyi Message Board names appear after the dashes, are…
Hey Horka! questions of the week
-How good of a year do you think Notre Dame senior quarterback Riley Leonard will actually have? — Xray93
-Who do you think ends up playing left tackle by the end of the season in the wake of the injury to sophomore Charles Jagusah; Tosh Baker or the field? — Kcndmis97
-How are you feeling about the Notre Dame at Texas A&M game after watching a few Fighting Irish practices? Better? Worse? — dcwflyca
-How has junior linebacker Jaylen Sneed looked in fall camp? Has the game slowed down for him? Will sophomore Drayk Bowen and freshman Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa both be starters this season? — TyWebb
-What non-Notre Dame storyline are you most excited about in college football this year? — arrowfan624
Horka and Soble’s conversation generally spans about an hour and is prefaced by any sort of news of the week or big discussion topics of the day. This week, for instance, the two got into what has stood out the most to them through the first week of Notre Dame fall camp. That led right into a lot of time spent talking about Leonard.
Reporters have been on hand for four of the team’s first handful-plus practices, including bearing witness to the entirety of the first session on July 31. Watch the video in the native player on this website or by going to Blue & Gold’s YouTube page by clicking here to see what has stuck with Blue & Gold’s boots on the ground writers the most through the first week of camp.
People who are watching the video live on Wednesday nights are also encouraged to ask questions in real-time. Horka and Soble do their best to entertain all of those. Even if they don’t, there is a community of Notre Dame fans conversing while following along with the discussion.
Don’t miss out on next week’s show at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday.
