Newsstand: Top Chicagoland recruit to make first Notre Dame visit Monday
One of the top defensive backs in the Midwest for the 2027 class is set to visit Notre Dame on Monday.
Chicago Mount Carmel four-star safety Tavares Harrington announced on social media that he will be making an unofficial visit to the Fighting Irish. It will be the 6-foot-3, 180-pounder’s first trip to South Bend.
According to the On3 Industry Ranking — a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four major recruiting media services — Harrington is the No. 101 overall player, No. 9 safety nationally and No. 6 player in Illinois for the 2027 class.
Notre Dame extended an offer to Harrington after he earned defensive back MVP honors at the Under Armour Ohio Camp in April. That event featured top recruits from across the Midwest.
Harrington holds around 20 scholarship offers, including Alabama, Auburn, Wisconsin, Missouri, Ole Miss, Miami and Nebraska. He made unofficial visits to Alabama and Auburn last weekend.
