Ohio State football recruiting can be a wild ride. It’s full of twists and turns as recruits from all over the country maneuver their way to signing day. Lettermen Row is here to help navigate the tumultuous roads by getting to the heart of the matter. We’re talking with the young players and sometimes, the Ohio State coaches and staff members themselves. Buckeyes 2022 receiver commit Kojo Antwi is this week’s guest.

A year ago, Kojo Antwi wasn’t a nationally known name on the recruiting trail.

The Lambert (Suwanee, Ga.) High School receiver has become a hot commodity since. He had offers from Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M and a host of other top programs when he committed to Ohio State in July.

He picked the Buckeyes over the SEC powers that were recruiting him for one primary reason: Brian Hartline.

“Coach Hart is a very genuine guy,” Kojo Antwi said. “He’s all about details when he’s coaching and that’s what I love about him. He was so real with me, straight up the whole time. I got to hang out with Emeka and Jaxon Smith-Njigba the most but the whole receiver room was cool. I had a chat with almost all of them.

“It’s so much about being a family there.”

Since he commitment, most schools have backed off. Georgia hasn’t, and the Bulldogs have tried very hard to break up the proverbial family in the last six weeks or so. Antwi has visited Athens twice, checking out the country’s top-ranked team with friends and family, using his proximity to the Bulldogs campus to watch good football and hang out with his girlfriend, who is a big fan of Georgia.

And those visits have brought rumors. A lot of rumors.

Those rumors bring attention from folks who want to propagate them but also from Hartline, who has to check in on his future wideout and make sure everything is kosher.

The standout receiver has said things are kosher, over and over. But yet the rumors persist.

“I’m definitely not going anywhere,” Antwi told Lettermen Row in September. “The Georgia visit was simply to take some of my teammates out for a game, and my girlfriend as well because she’s a Georgia fan.”

How has Kojo Antwi handled the conversation about him? What did the recent visit from Hartline to his school mean to him? What is he most looking forward to as he returns to Ohio State for the Penn State game on Halloween weekend?

The electric Ohio State verbal returns to Birminology to talk about those things and more.
