COLUMBUS — When Ohio State was at Big Ten Media Days last week in Indianapolis, the rest of the college football world had its attention on the next round of conference realignment. Oklahoma and Texas have made their intentions known that they plan to leave the Big 12 Conference for the SEC.
Lettermen Row senior writer Austin Ward is joined by Lettermen Row Director of Recruiting Jeremy Birmingham, former Ohio State quarterback Justin Zwick and former Ohio State quarterback Gunnar Hoak to talk about what moves the Big Ten could make as the college football landscape shifts and more from the world of Buckeyes athletics.
Texas and Oklahoma each notified the Big 12 on Monday they would break with the Big 12 when their grant of media rights expires in 2025. The Big Ten has reportedly not entered into any conversations with schools, but making sure the conference stays relevant is a must in the next chapter of college football.
That’s not all the crew talked about, though. Justin and Gunnar broke down upcoming starting quarterback job. C.J. Stroud, Kyle McCord and Jack Miller are each still contending spot and the quarterback position will be under the spotlight when Ohio State begins training camp on Aug 3. Stroud showed in the spring game that he has the arm strength and skills to lead the Buckeyes when they open the season on Sept. 2 at Minnesota.
What is an August quarterback competition like? How long will Ryan Day hold off on announcing his starting quarterback?
All that and more on this loaded episode. Don’t forget to grab the $2 appetizers from Roosters every Tuesday at all Roosters locations. And this Thursday is National Chicken Wing Day.
