On3 High School Football Composite Rankings Top-25 in Ohio Ahead of Round Three Playoffs Action
COLUMBUS — Ohio is regarded as one of the gem states when it comes to high school football. The Buckeye State year in and year out produces plenty of college talent from FBS all the way to Division III.
This is the third week of the playoffs and Lettermen Row runs through the On3 High School Football Composite Rankings Top-25 for the state of Ohio.
No. 1 Archbishop Moeller (11-1)
The No. 1 team in Ohio resides in Cincinnati. Archbishop Moeller rolled through its regular season schedule and the Crusaders now have to roll through their playoff schedule. Archbishop Moeller and 2026 On300 quarterback Matt Ponatoski face No. 17 Princeton on Friday in the third round of the OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

No. 2 Massillon Washington (9-2)
Massillon Washington are the reigning Division II champs and have played a national schedule this fall. The Tigers face Teays Valley on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division II State Tournament.

No. 3 Walsh Jesuit (12-0)
Walsh Jesuit remained undefeated with a 42-12 win over Hudson last week. The Warriors host Austintown-Fitch on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division II State Tournament.

No. 4 Akron Archbishop Hoban (10-2)
Akron Hoban extended its winning streak to five games last week with a close win over Uniontown Lake. The Knights host Macedonia Nordonia on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division II State Tournament as they look to get back to the state title and finally win it.

No. 5 Avon (12-0)
Avon came back to beat Olmstead Falls 52-35 last week after falling down 21-0 in the first quarter. The Eagles host No. 25 Wadsworth on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division II State Tournament.

Marion Local beat Tri-Village 56-14 last week in the second round of OHSAA Division VII State Tournament. The Flyers host Ansonia on Friday in a third round matchup.

The Firebirds of Lakota West are year in and year out one of the premier programs in the state. This week Lakota West hosts No. 9 Cincinnati St. Xavier on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

No. 8 Anderson (11-0)
Anderson remains undefeated after beating Vandalia Buter last week. The Raptors host Mt. Healthy on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division II State Tournament.

No. 9 St. Xavier (8-3)
St. Xavier, led by quarterback Chase Herbstreit, the son of Kirk Herbstreit, beat a former Top-25 team in Winton Woods last week. The Bombers play No. 7 on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

No. 10 Toledo Central Catholic (10-1)
The reigning Division III state champs are riding a nine-game win streak. Central Catholic plays Lexington on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division III State Tournament.

No. 11 Bishop Watterson (12-0)
Columbus Bishop Watterson made it all the way to the Division III state title game last season and wound up losing. The Eagles, who graduated over 20 seniors, have somehow gotten even better this season. They play Licking Valley on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division III State Tournament.

No. 12 St. Edward (7-5)
St. Edward has been the best team in Division I for the last three years, winning the state championship in three consecutive seasons. That hasn’t been the case this season, however, as they have struggled with a national schedule. Still they earned a hard fought win over Toledo Whitmer last week. The Eagles play Perrysburg in the third round of OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

No. 13 Mentor (12-0)
Mentor remained undefeated last Friday with a shut out win over Strongsville last week. The Cardinals play Canton McKinley on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

No. 14 Medina Highland (12-0)
Highland handled its business in a 49-20 win over Toledo St. Francis De Sales last week. The Hornets now play Anthony Wayne in a Top-25 matchup on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division II State Tournament.

No. 15 Glenville (9-3)
The Tarblooders are the reigning OHSAA Division IV State Champions and they shut out West Branch 13-0 last week. Glenville plays Mentor Lake Catholic on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division IV State Tournament.

All of the talk about high school football in Northeast Ohio usually goes toward the Cleveland area, but don’t sleep on Youngstown either. Ursuline is an elite program. The Irish host a talented Aurora team on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division III State Tournament.

No. 17 Princeton (10-2)
Princeton avenged one of their regular season losses last week with a 37-7 win over Hamilton. The Vikings will have the opportunity to avenge their other regular season loss this week when they take on Archbishop Moller.

No. 18 Olentangy Liberty (10-2)
Olentangy Liberty continues to climb in the Massey Ratings Top-25 with a win over Groveport-Madison last week. The Patriots play Upper Arlington on Friday in the second round of OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

No. 19 Pickerington North (10-2)
One of the powerhouse programs of Central Ohio, Pickerington North, beat crosstown rival Pickerington Central last week. The Panthers play Olentangy Berlin on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

No. 20 Ironton (10-1)
Ironton earned a 40-0 shut out win over Portsmouth last week. The Fighting Tigers play Columbus Harvest Prep on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division V State Tournament. Harvest Prep upset Ironton in the third round of the playoffs last season.

Anthony Wayne remained undefeated with a win over Sandusky last week. The Generals play No. 14 Medina Highland in the third round of OHSAA Division II State Tournament.

Elder is one of the most historic high school football programs in the state of Ohio but the Panthers received a tough draw in the State Tournament. The Panthers fell to No. 7 Lakota West in the second round of OHSAA Division I State Tournament last week to end their season.

No. 23 Wapakoneta (12-0)
Wapakoneta continued its undefeated season with a 48-12 win over Wilmington last week. The Redskins play Bellbrook on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division III State Tournament.

No. 24 Olentangy Berlin (10-2)
The Bears have quickly become of the top teams in Central Ohio. Olentangy Berlin will have one of their toughest tests of the season this week, however. They play No. 19 Pickerington North on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division I State Tournament.

Another Top-25 matchup. Wadsworth plays to No. 5 Avon on Friday in the third round of OHSAA Division II State Tournament. The Grizzles have been on a roll this season with their lone loss coming to North Royalton by a touchdown in Week 10 of the regular season.
