COLUMBUS — The Ohio State basketball program now has its entire 2022-23 schedule completed.

The Buckeyes released their Big Ten Conference schedule Thursday afternoon which features plenty of good games and it all starts in December.

Ohio State has known about its complete nonconference schedule for a few months now, and that will come with its own challenges. But once conference play gets underway it’s almost a completely new season for coach Chris Holtman and company.

The Buckeyes first Big Ten game of the season takes place on Dec. 8 when they host Rutgers in the Schottenstein Center. Ohio State then has nearly a month before it plays its next conference opponent on New Year’s Day in Evanston, Illinois, against Northwestern.

Ohio State returns home for a game against Minnesota on Jan. 12 and then hits the road for away games against Rutgers (Jan. 15) and Nebraska (Jan. 18). The scarlet and gray close out January with games against Iowa (Jan. 21), at Illinois (Jan. 24) and at Indiana (Jan. 28)

Conference play in February almost has the Buckeyes playing a game every other day. It all starts on Feb. 2 when the Buckeyes host Wisconsin and then three days later make the trip up north to play Michigan (Feb. 5). Ohio State returns home for a two-game home stand against Northwestern (Feb. 9) and Michigan State (Feb. 12).

It then heads west for games at Iowa (Feb. 16) and Purdue (Feb. 19). The Buckeyes close out February with games at home against Penn State (Feb. 23) and Illinois (Feb. 26).

The final games of the 2022-23 season for Ohio State are home against Maryland on March 1 and on the road at Michigan State on March 4.

Ohio State begins its season on Nov. 7 when it hosts Robert Morris in the season opener.
