COLUMBUS – Ohio State looked like it was in position for a huge letdown through 20 minutes on Wednesday night.

Following one of the biggest wins of the Chris Holtmann era over top-ranked Duke last week, the Buckeyes took care of business against Penn State on Sunday for back-to-back wins that got them back into the AP top 25.

But at Value City Arena on Wednesday, the Buckeyes got a test from Towson of the Colonial Athletic Association.

Towson led by as many as seven points with five minutes remaining in the first half, and the Buckeyes held just a one-point lead at halftime.

However, behind a balanced scoring effort from E.J. Liddell, Kyle Young and Zed Key – plus the sharpshooting of Justin Ahrens – Ohio State put enough distance between itself and the Tigers in the second half. The Buckeyes rattled off a 17-4 win midway through the half, eventually pushed their lead to 15 points and coasted to an 85-74 non-conference victory.

The Buckeyes win gives them three straight wins heading into a top-25 matchup with Wisconsin at noon on Saturday from Value City Arena.

It wasn’t a massive win, but it was an important one for Holtmann’s crew. And Lettermen Row was on hand to give an extended look at the action.

Lettermen Row’s Jeremy Birmingham and Zack Carpenter each descended on The Schottenstein Center – in addition to Lettermen Row senior writer Austin Ward getting in on the action with some Buckeyes basketball analysis – as the two photographers captured any and all angles from the Ohio State win.

You can check out those photos from the game in the gallery below. And you can follow along with Lettermen Row all season for coverage of an Ohio State team looking for another successful Big Ten run.
