COLUMBUS — Though it seems like the 2021 football season just ended for Ohio State, the next iteration of the Buckeyes is cranking up already.

And fans from around the country can get their first taste of Ryan Day’s fourth team on Saturday, April 16 when Ohio State returns to Ohio Stadium for the 2022 LiFEsports Spring Game, presented by Union Home Mortgage.

Tickets for that game are on sale now. According to an official release from the university on Wednesday, entry to the 2022 spring football game will start at $7 per ticket for general admission. There will be a number of $30 reserved club seats available as well and children under the age of six-years-old are welcomed into the general admission seating without charge.

Ohio State is also selling group tickets — for 25 or more people — for the game at $5 per person. Those can be purchased through the school’s ticket office at 1-800-GOBUCKS.

The game should be an interesting one for Buckeyes fans. It’ll be the first chance to see the 11 early-enrolled members of the Ohio State 2022 recruiting class and guys like Tanner McCalister and DeaMonte Trayanum, transfers who will be counted on in new defensive coordinators Jim Knowles defense. Ohio State has four new assistant coaches each looking to make their mark this spring. For Ryan Day and his program, it’s a pivotal offseason that saw necessary but difficult changes.

“It’s exciting …” Ryan Day said in late January. “Working together, had our first staff meeting together and we’re looking forward to getting rolling into February.

“It’s just a new group and a fresh start. New ideas, new perspectives — that’s a good thing, it’s healthy. Especially when you have guys who have been here for five, seven years, the continuity has been great. That’s a big part of our success here. But having new ideas and fresh perspectives is really good. It’s refreshing.”

Kick-off for the 2022 LiFEsports Ohio State Spring Game is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. Parking for the event is free at Ohio Stadium.
