Ohio State football recruiting can be a wild ride full of twists and turns as recruits from all over the country maneuver their way to signing day. Lettermen Row is here to help navigate the tumultuous roads by getting to the heart of the matter with the young football players and Ohio State coaches and staff members themselves. This week, four future Buckeyes join Birminology to talk about recruiting and what’s on the horizon for the 2022 Ohio State class.

The conversation has been pretty constant for the last two weeks or so.

Big things could be happening for Ohio State 2022 recruiting class and those things are being discussed in major part because of the effort being made by the current crop of Buckeyes commitments. The only thing more persistent than the NCAA recruiting dead period over the last few months has been C.J. Hicks, Dasan McCullough, and Bennett Christian recruiting on behalf of Ohio State.

“It’s huge, and I think that because of 2020, there’s the Zooms and the FaceTimes, Microsoft Teams, Skype, there’s just so many ways to communicate now that that’s really been big, more than ever before,” Ryan Day said last week. “Group type of stuff that’s gone on has been really strong, and that’s why when you recruit guys in your class, you wanna bring in leaders, guys of high character so that they bring those types of guys in there because they spend more time with the recruits than we do. I think that’s really, really important.

The work is on the verge of paying off in a big way.

The Buckeyes are trending for the country’s top-ranked quarterback and more than a few other top 2022 prospects and with Hicks, McCullough and Bennett as the ringleaders, are causing a major stir on the internet.

The expectations are very high and the recruiting momentum is riding with the Buckeyes right now.

What are the Buckeyes selling that other recruits are finding so appealing? What do these young players think of the 247Sports.com crystal ball and the prediction industry that has made spoiling their decisions all the rage? How do all the differing personalities mesh on the recruiting trail?

Find out the answers to that and more in the latest edition of Birminology from Lettermen Row.
