Amway Coaches Poll: Ohio State starts the season ranked No. 3

Ohio State will start the season once again near the top of the college football ranks.

The preseason Amway Coaches Poll was released Thursday afternoon, and the Buckeyes sit at the No. 3 spot behind Clemson and top-ranked Alabama. Last season, Ohio State began the year as the No. 2 ranked team in the poll behind the Crimson Tide.

This is the fourth-straight season that the Buckeyes have been in the top five of these rankings, and sixth-straight in the top 10.

Other teams in the the top 10 include Georgia, Oklahoma, Washington, Miami (FL) and Auburn. Additionally, Big Ten foes Wisconsin and Penn State found themselves near the top at no. 7 and no. 9 respectively.

A total of five teams from the Buckeyes’ schedule this season were in the top-25, and five teams from the Big Ten earned a spot in the rankings. The full list can be seen below.
