Terry McLaurin signs record-breaking contract with Washington

Former Ohio State star Terry McLaurin has inked a record-setting contract extension with the Washington Commanders.

His new extension, which is for three years and $71 million, includes a $28 million signing bonus, which is the largest ever given to a receiver. Roughly 76 percent of the money is guaranteed, and McLaurin will be signed to the Commanders through the 2025 season.

As a rookie in 2019, McLaurin caught 58 passes for 919 yards and seven touchdowns. He then had 87 receptions for 1,118 yards and four touchdowns in 2020, and last season he caught 77 passes for 1,053 yards and five touchdowns.

Before the extension, McLaurin was set to enter the final year of his rookie contract this season with a base salary of $2.7 million. Not now, though. He’s entering this season with a fresh, record-breaking extension.

New Ohio State Recruiting Podcast episode

The Buckeyes opened their doors to another batch of uncommitted, highly-rated prospects who took official visits to Columbus over the weekend. That group was led by Lee, five-star defensive back Caleb Downs, who appears to be trending toward the Buckeyes, and Justice Haynes, a four-star running back.

Lettermen Row staffers Spencer Holbrook and Andrew Ellis are back to break down every angle of it on the Lettermen Row Recruiting Podcast. And there was a lot to discuss and break down.

The guys made sure to reach out to their sources and gather intel from the weekend, and the show is the perfect place to talk about what they’re hearing after the weekend that was.

Those are some of the key discussion points on this week’s episode. The duo of Lettermen Row staffers break down the big recruiting weekends behind the Buckeyes along with a a game of In or Out, using only visitors from the past weekend.

Tim May Podcast episode

on the latest episode of the Tim May Podcast, Tim is previewing the season-opening showdown against Notre Dame. To do that, Tim is joined by Patrick Engel of On3’s Blue and Gold, the home for the best Notre Dame coverage on the internet.

The two reporters break down every angle of the game possible, including where the Buckeyes have their edges, how Notre Dame could shock the Horseshoe in a loud atmosphere and how the kickoff time will impact the game.

How can this season-opening game set the tone for the entire season of college football? Who has the edge on both sides of the ball? Will the Fighting Irish be able to slow down C.J. Stroud and the Buckeyes offense? Will Notre Dame have the firepower to match that offense — or will the new-look Ohio State defense come up big in their first time on the field for a game setting?

You will not want to miss that and plenty more news and analysis and in another edition of the Tim May Podcast.
