COLUMBUS — Ohio State is just a few weeks away from entering spring practice.

The Buckeyes won’t have some of their stars for those 15 practices in spring, though.

Ryan Day met with the media for the first time since the Peach Bowl loss to Georgia on New Year’s Eve, and he rattled off a list of Buckeyes players who won’t be available for spring. That list is headlined by a few key starters.

Wide receivers Julian Fleming and Emeka Egbuka won’t be suiting up for Ohio State this spring as they recover from post-season injuries. Both of them, starters from last season’s College Football Playoff team, are expected to fully recover in time for training camp in August.

Star running back TreVeyon Henderson, who missed a few games last fall and later revealed that he was battling through a broken foot, won’t be available for spring, either. He should be back at full strength for the Buckeyes in the fall.

And star middle linebacker Tommy Eichenberg will miss the spring, as well. He was a captain last fall and should be a favorite to be one again this season, as well as a preseason All-American candidate.

Center Jakob James, who is battling to become the starter as the apex of the Ohio State offensive line, will miss the spring, as well.

The entire list can be found below, and Ohio State made clear that there are potentially others who could also be out for spring practice.
