COLUMBUS — The talent Ohio State has assembled on its roster is near the top of any program in the country.

And the Buckeyes have spent all winter and spring figuring out how to make it all fit together on the field this fall. After the eighth spring practice on Saturday, the program opened its doors to Ohio State students to watch some of the live bullets fly and show just how practice is ran. That also meant the media was able to watch a large amount of Buckeyes practice for the first time all spring.

So there are obviously plenty of storylines that can come from an extended peek at how the Buckeyes are progressing this offseason.

Lettermen Row senior writer Austin Ward is joined by Jeremy Birmingham, Spencer Holbrook and Tim May for a jam-packed discussion about the Buckeyes progress across the entire roster, which seems to be one of the most talented in the country early in spring evaluations. After watching some of the live reps and a big portion of practice, the guys had plenty they needed to break down, including:

  • The Ohio State wide receivers are nearly impossible to cover. Which of them made the best plays during passing drills with C.J. Stroud?
  • The Buckeyes defensive line won the day over the offensive line up front. Which of the Rushmen are beginning to flash and separate from the pack as spring hits the halfway point?
  • C.J. Stroud is taking full control of the moment as a face of college football — and the biggest star for the Ohio State football program. How has he progressed into a leader on and off the field with a spotlight fixated on him?
  • Are the Buckeyes feeling good about the situation at tight end? It might be the biggest remaining question left to be answered on a roster littered with stars.
