June means visits, offers and one-day camps for Ohio State at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. The Buckeyes have a busy week ahead on the recruiting trail, hosting players from across the country for camps, unofficial visits and official visits throughout the week. Lettermen Row is breaking down recruiting tidbits to give you everything you need to know about the chaos that is Buckeyes recruiting.

COLUMBUS — Ohio State continued its busy recruiting month on Monday by offering a pair of fast-rising running backs.

Tony Alford and the Buckeyes offered Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep 2024 running back Davion Gause and Lynchburg (Va.) Liberty Christian Academy 2025 running back Gideon Davidson.

Gause is a four-star prospect ranked No. 173 nationally in the 2024 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Gause’s offer list is impressive — including schools like Georgia, Notre Dame, Miami and Texas A&M in addition to Ohio State.

The 5-foot-10, 197-pound running back has been busy in 2022, taking an unofficial visit to Notre Dame as well as visits to in-state programs UCF and Miami. He is from the same high school that produced current Buckeyes freshmen Kenyatta Jackson and Ryan Turner.

Miami currently has a 41.4% chance to land Gause’s commitment according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine — but there is a long way to go in the 2024 cycle and the Buckeyes will surely want to get Gause on campus for a visit.

Looking a bit further to the future, the Buckeyes offered 2025 Virginia running back Gideon Davidson. Davidson, whose class has not yet been rated, is beginning to pick up major offers. In addition to Ohio State, offers include: Georgia, Penn State, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Virginia, South Carolina, Louisville and Wake Forest.

Davidson attended camp at Clemson this past weekend — working with Tigers assistant Brandon Streeter and former Clemson standout and current running backs coach CJ Spiller. Davidson has taken other trips to schools around the country, including Tennessee, Florida and Virginia. The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder hasn’t been up to the Horseshoe for a game before, but is hoping that changes this season.

“I’m very excited,” Davidson told Lettermen Row. “I hope to get invited to a game this fall.”
