COLUMBUS — Ohio State continues to hit the road this week as the contact period in the recruiting calendar is in full swing.

The Buckeyes quarterback coach Corey Dennis visited 2025 Findlay (Ohio) four-star quarterback Ryan Montgomery and 2023 offensive lineman commit Luke Montgomery.

Montgomery is the No. 4 rated quarterback in the 2025 class and the No. 1 overall prospect in Ohio.

Montgomery already has 13 offers as a sophomore from major programs including Ohio State, Michigan and Georgia. Those three schools are heavily recruiting the talented signal-caller from Northwest Ohio.

He’s 6-foot-2, 200 pounds and has impressive arm strength for a 2025 prospect. Montgomery attended The Game on Nov. 26, and despite the result, it had no major barring on his recruitment.

“You never want to base your recruiting off of one game,” Montgomery said.

He is the clear-cut, top priority for Ohio State in the 2025 cycle now that Colin Hurley has reclassified and committed to LSU.

Larry Johnson heads South

Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson was at Buford High School in Georgia in recent days and visited a slew of talented prospects.

Among them was four-star EDGE prospect KingJoseph Edwards.

Edwards is the No. 5 rated EDGE and the No. 37 overall prospect according to the On3 Consensus.

He has visited Ohio State only twice but was in town for the Notre Dame game on Sept. 3. He did try to make a visit for The Game at the end of the season but the plans fell through.

Buford’s 2024 class is impressive defensively with four-star EDGE Eddrick Houston and five-star safety KJ Bolden.
