Good morning, Ohio State fans, and welcome to the Scarlet Sunrise. Football will always be our focus, but every day we’ll cover news, notes and analysis from across Buckeyes sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Ohio State football, recruiting, basketball and more in Scarlet Sunrise.

Bearded Ryan Day won’t shave for resurgent Buckeyes

Ohio State coach Ryan Day had a beard in the preseason, but shaved it off before the regular season started due to a superstition. Once the Buckeyes lost to Oregon while Day was fresh-faced, though, he decided to switch his look up.

Now with a full beard, Day has led the Buckeyes to three straight wins and has his team playing better on both sides of the ball.

And that beard he was superstitious about? It’s not going anywhere.

“It’s not gonna change right now,” Day said. ” Going to keep it going.”

As long as the Buckeyes win games, don’t expect a clean-shaven Ryan Day any time soon.

New edition of Tim May Podcast

Lettermen Row’s Tim May is joined by Lettermen Row senior writer Austin Ward and former Ohio State All-Big Ten receiver Dane Sanzenbacher to break down that Buckeyes receivers unit on the latest episode of the Tim May Podcast.

There’s plenty to discuss – including an analysis of the Buckeyes blowout win over Rutgers – on this episode of the Tim May Podcast as Tim and Austin break it down and Dane Sanzenbacher shares his insight from his playing days.

ICYMI: TreVeyon Henderson will play for Buckeyes vs. Maryland

There is no need for any decisions about playing time for TreVeyon Henderson at Ohio State this week.

The star freshman is fully cleared and ready to roll for the Buckeyes.

The Ohio State medical staff had given Henderson the green light to return in the second half last week if necessary — and nothing has changed since then as the Buckeyes resume practice for a matchup Saturday against Maryland.

“He’s good to go,” Ohio State coach Ryan Day said during a press conference on Tuesday at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
