Justin Fields continues to break records, make NFL history

Where do you even start with Chicago Bears star Justin Fields? The former Ohio State quarterback has been one of the best stories in the NFL this season. After a putrid start to the season — mired by bad O-Line play, limited receiving options and questionable offensive game plans — Fields has completely changed the narrative around his second season in the pros.

Since Week 8, Fields is tied for first in rushing touchdowns (four). He also ranks second in rushing yards (385), second in passing touchdowns (seven) and fourth in passer rating (108.9).

His 325 rushing yards over the last two weeks are the most by any quarterback in a two-game span in league history. Even more impressive, his 555 rushing yards from Week 6-10 are the most by an NFL signal caller in any five-game span in the Super Bowl era.

He’s also the only quarterback in the Super Bowl era with more than one 60-plus-yard rushing touchdown in a season. Fields is currently sixth in the league — among all players — in rushing.

Any Ohio State fan knows just how special of an arm Fields has, too. He’s second in the NFL this season in completion percentage for intermediate throws (10-19 yards) among passers with 25 such attempts, per Pro Football Focus. Fields is 31-of-44 (70.5%) on those throws in 2022.

Marvin Harrison Jr. earns spot on PFF Team of the Week

Someday, Buckeyes wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will be making his mark in the NFL. For now, he’s building quite a legacy in Columbus. Harrison turned in his fifth 100-yard receiving game this season against Indiana. He actually cleared that mark by halftime. Harrison flashed with highlight-reel plays all day, including a toe-tapping grab in the second quarter that looked humanly impossible.

Harrison was recognized for his seven-catch, 135 receiving yard outing, as he earned a spot on the PFF Team of the Week. He was joined by North Carolina wide receiver Josh Downs and Fresno State wide receiver Jalen Moreno-Copper.

Harrison has had 49 catches go for first downs this year, per PFF. That’s the fourth most in the nation.

Taking a closer look at Buckeyes dominant win over Indiana

Ohio State took care of business at home against Indiana over the weekend, 56-14. The Buckeyes rushed for a season-high 340 yards, and quarterback C.J. Stroud — the Big Ten offensive player of the week — threw for 297 yards and five touchdowns.

Lettermen Row was there to break it all down Saturday, and now it’s back inside the Horseshoe to re-examine everything it learned from the road game.

Spencer Holbrook, Andy Backstrom and Tim May are breaking down how the Buckeyes fared with the newest Lettermen Row video: The Monday After. Every Monday following Buckeyes games, Spencer, Andy and Tim will reconvene and chat about what they saw Saturday afternoon.
