Mike Doss elected to College Football Hall of Fame

Mike Doss is one of the most decorated Ohio State players of all time.

Doss was a three-time first-team All-Big Ten player, a three-time All-American, the 2002 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, a national champion in 2002 and a captain for that national-title team. He has one of the most impressive resumes of any defensive player in Ohio State history.

And for that, he will officially enter the College Football Hall of Fame with 17 other legendary players and three coaches. The announcement was made during pregame of the College Football Playoff national title game Monday, and Doss made the cut.

He joins 26 other Buckeyes in the College Football Hall of Fame, and he is the first from the 2002 national title team to be inducted.

Doss is an Ohio State legend, already. The induction into the national hall of fame makes him a legend around all of college football, too.

Lettermen Live hosted by Roosters

In order to give a detailed breakdown of what has already happened in the Woody Hayes Athletic Center and give a gauge of what may be coming, the Lettermen Live crew returns for another episode from Roosters on Olentangy.

Lettermen Row senior writer Austin Ward hosts a group of analysts that features former Ohio State quarterback Justin Zwick, former Buckeyes linebacker Bobby Carpenter, Nicole Cox of Roosters and Lettermen Row director of recruiting Jeremy Birmingham.

The crew takes a look at the coaching changes Ohio State has already made with Jim Knowles officially taking over as defensive coordinator last week and the program firing offensive line coach Greg Studrawa and replacing him with Justin Frye.

They also take an early look at the 2022 season with a slew of bold predictions – including what the future may hold for quarterback C.J. Stroud, running back TreVeyon Henderson and a new-look defense – for the Buckeyes as they will eventually kick off Year Four of the Ryan Day era.

Justin Frye hired as next Ohio State offense line coach

The Buckeyes didn’t have to move on to a second candidate to fill the vacancy on the coaching staff leading the offensive line. Their top choice, Justin Frye, will be the next offensive line coach at Ohio State.

The former UCLA offensive coordinator was the top priority all along for Ohio State coach Ryan Day, and multiple Lettermen Row sources confirmed he’s now set to reunite with a former colleague who shares a similar philosophy and brings a track record of success with him to lead the linemen.

The Buckeyes are already in position to thrive with the nation’s most explosive offense returning numerous key pieces next season. But the primary inconsistency a year ago for Ohio State was up front, and that was exposed in the regular-season-ending loss to rival Michigan in November.

Frye’s mission is simple: Get the Buckeyes back to the championship standard. He can now get started doing so early in the offseason.
