Buckeyes OL coach Justin Frye named to ‘rising-star assistant’ list

Ohio State found a new offensive line coach this offseason, hiring Justin Frye away from UCLA. Frye is already climbing as one of the rising stars of college football coaching.

On3 Senior National College Football Reporter Matt Zenitz gathered votes and feedback from more than 100 people in the college football coaching world, including head coaches, coordinators and team officials, to identify rising-star assistants who are on track to garner interest for bigger jobs this next coaching cycle.

Frye was on the list, certainly gaining attention from some of his coaching peers. Frye was at UCLA since 2018 and was at Boston College from 2013 until 2017. He is not just the Buckeyes offensive line coach, but he is also associate head coach for offense.

Buckeyes offer fast-rising 2024 offensive lineman

New Palestine (Ind.) 2024 offensive lineman Ian Moore wants to stay in the Midwest. Moore grew up in Indiana, and he said he loves the way schools play football in Big Ten country.

It’s why an offer from Ohio State would be so special.

After speaking with Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day on Wednesday, Moore got that offer.

Moore is a four-star prospect ranked No. 219 nationally in the 2024 On3 Consensus. He has offers from all across the Big Ten — a region he feels connected to.

Moore’s trip to Columbus on Wednesday was his first time experiencing a school-based camp, with another camp at Alabama on deck this week.
