Ryan Day, Buckeyes want back into ‘routine’
Ohio State still doesn’t know when it will take the field for a game again. The Buckeyes are hoping for answers soon, and they’re staying ready for whenever that announcement of a fall season comes — if it comes.
Ryan Day and the Buckeyes are allowed 12 hours of activity per week in the meantime. And while they’re getting work done, it’s hard to find a routine with limited time and no structure of a season yet. It’s largely unknown.
“We live in a routine,” Day said on 97.1 The Fan on Monday evening. “And that routine is built around the next target, the next game, the next thing — whether that’s spring ball or preseason camp, it comes in segments. Not knowing what’s next is something everybody involved in the program isn’t used to.â€
Ohio State could soon find out what is next. Maybe then Day and the Buckeyes can get into a routine. In the meantime, they’ll have to try developing a routine until they have answers from the Big Ten.

Buckeyes finding replacement for Shaun Wade after opt out
Ohio State suffered its second departure in the last four days Monday morning when potential All-American cornerback Shaun Wade declared for the NFL draft amid ongoing uncertainty with the Big Ten football season.
Who will replace Wade? And how steep will the drop-off be? Lettermen Row senior writer Austin Ward has details:
… it’s possible that both Cameron Brown and Sevyn Banks could blossom into first-round draft picks at cornerback as well. But neither of those guys can match the experience Wade was bringing back to the Buckeyes, and there are almost always some growing pains for new starters at such a challenging, pressure-packed position on the outside.
