When does 2-0 not feel like 2-0, when it’s the way OU won its second game last weekend. An effort that inspired very little confidence toward the ceiling of the 2024 Sooners.

Expectations are completely lowered, shattered for some fans. But OU is 2-0 and looks to bounce back heading into the massive Tennessee showdown next weekend.

Gotta get there, first, by beating Tulane, hopefully. Talking all of the OU woes and a whole lot more in the Unofficial 40 podcast from SoonerScoop.

Just fix it

You could argue injuries have kept OU from being who it needs to be. A valid argument, but at this point? Simply have to figure it out, have to fix it.

Head coach Brent Venables said it’s up to guys to create their own opportunities if they want more time on the field. There are doors opening, who wants to be that guy? Time to get the OU rushing attack off and running.

Strangely enough, we’re not talking about defensive struggles at all. Like at all. The defense has been the rock of the initial two weeks. Doesn’t sound like a healthy recipe for long term success, but this is a group that might need to shoulder the load a bit more.

Mills is in? Or out?

Wide receiver commit Cortez Mills did indeed take the trip to Nebraska over the weekend. So, per Venables’ no-visit policy, how should we adjust from there?

Recruiting editor Josh McCuistion is here to break it all down and give another look at what’s going on with the 2025 class.

All that and so much more, including all the banter you’ve come to expect from the Unofficial 40 podcast by SoonerScoop.
