Another week, and another challenge for OU football. We take a mini-break from tracking the transfer portal. And now? All eyes go toward the defensive coordinator spot.

What does being a defensive coordinator under Brent Venables really mean? Who might be some of the legitimate candidates?

Let’s break it all down with another edition of the Unofficial 40 podcast from SoonerScoop.

OU can feel pretty good right now, after adding some key pieces in the portal. Key defensive pieces despite the fact nobody knows who they’ll be answering to. At least not yet.

OU retained the best of the best on defense, one by one, as they all made their public announcements. Add the final guys and hire a defensive coordinator, and onto 2025 we will all go. As anticipated as it gets with the Sooners.
