The Ole Miss football season does not conclude for another couple weeks, but big decisions for some key players are already here.

For some, the choice has been made or made for them with graduation the only option. But for other Rebels, the decision of do I stay or do I go is on the table.

Matt Corral and Sam Williams have already publicly stated their intentions to pursue their chances in the NFL next year and begin preparations for the draft after the Sugar Bowl next month.

For others, weighing the options of staying for another year or also dipping their toe into the NFL waters is heavy on their minds.

Jerrion Ealy and Chance Campbell are two that have just that decision to make and spoke about their process this week.

Ealy’s decision is one that seems simple to some — go to the NFL now and see how things go. But for Ealy, it is a process that he has not even started or contemplated.

“I’ll tell you this right now. I’m just focusing on this bowl game,” Ealy said on Tuesday. “This is my only main concern.”

When asked further if he would begin that consideration after the bowl game, Ealy’s only response was, “I don’t know.”

The future may still be cloudy for Ealy and his Ole Miss career, but Campbell is one who has already at least started considering the options in front of him.

Campbell transferred to Ole Miss last year from Maryland and immediately made an impact on a defense that was less than stellar in 2020.

With Campbell’s performance up to this point in 2021, the chance to go to the NFL is available.

During the Rebels two week downtime between the Egg Bowl on Thanksgiving and resuming bowl prep on Monday, Campbell spent some time back home. Discussing with his family and support system in Oxford, Campbell is still on the undecided side as well.

“It’s a big decision, so I just kind of put some work into that,” Campbell said. “You don’t want to make that decision being stubborn or pick something a while ago and just going with it. I’m just kind of evaluating it.

“Now that I’m back here I can kind of just focus on playing ball. That’s kind of the fun part. The work side is the fun part.”

On Tuesday, Williams tweeted out a thank you letter to the Ole Miss fanbase and concluded it by stating he’d play the Sugar Bowl before turning his attention to NFL prep.

The decision to stay and play was an easy one for the All-American.

“I’ve got one more opportunity to play with them. I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” Williams said.
