Kickoff time, TV channel set for Ole Miss vs. Oklahoma

No. 5 Ole Miss dips back into Southeastern Conference play this week after surviving a scare from Washington State on Saturday.

Next up for the Rebels (6-0, 3-0 SEC) is a pair of road trips to No. 9 Georgia this weekend followed by a game in Norman against No. 14 Oklahoma (5-1, 1-1) on October 25.

For the game against the Sooners there is now a set kickoff time and television channel designation. Already in the early kickoff window of 11 a.m. to Noon CT, the game will officially start at 11 a.m. CT on ABC the SEC announced on Monday.

For Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss it is the second early kickoff in three weeks after playing no earlier than 2:30 p.m. CT the first five games. Last weekend’s game against the Cougars saw the home team look “sluggish” and underwhelming.

The sixth-year head coach was baffled by his team’s performance in the early game.

“It’s on me,” Kiffin said after Saturday’s game. “Maybe I’ve got to figure out a better way on these 11 a.m. kicks. We had two losses last year on them and obviously didn’t play well today.

“I don’t really know. We are a morning practice format team, and that should equate to playing well in the morning. It used to, but it doesn’t feel like that now.”

Next Saturday will be the first meeting in Norman between the two programs. Ole Miss leads the series 2-0 over Oklahoma with a neutral site win in the 1999 Independence Bowl and last year’s 27-14 win in Oxford.

  • October 18 – at Georgia (2:30 p.m. CT; ABC)
  • October 25 – at Oklahoma (11 a.m. CT; ABC)
  • November 1 – vs. South Carolina (Flex / 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. CT or 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. CT)
  • November 8 – vs. The Citadel (Noon CT; SECN+)
  • November 15 – vs. Florida (Flex / 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. CT or 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. CT)
  • November 28 – at Mississippi Sate (11 a.m. CT)
