While most speculated Saturday could be Matt Corral’s final game inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, the Ole Miss quarterback confirmed it on Friday.

In a post to his Twitter page, Corral thanked the entire Ole Miss family in a lengthy statement reflecting back on his time ahead of Saturday’s game against Vanderbilt.

Corral thanks the Rebel coaching staff, which he characterized as different but “a good different.”

“It’s a staff built on relationships and mentoring. We truly have a one-of-a-kind program at Ole Miss” Corral’s post read.

Second-year head coach Lane Kiffin and offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby were personally thanked along with Matt Holocek, who he thanked for “being such a big part” of his support system at Ole Miss.

Corral also took the time to thank the Ole Miss fan base, calling Oxford a “second home.”

“I have so much appreciation for Rebel Nation,” Corral said. “They love and support I have received from fans, faculty, administration and staff in my four years here has been remarkable, and Oxford will always be a second home to me.”

While Saturday’s game is Corral’s swan song in Oxford, he still has two more games in a Rebel uniform. The No. 10-ranked Rebels (8-2, 4-2 SEC) wrap up the regular season on Thursday in Starkville against Mississippi State and then an undetermined bowl game.

Corral has a chance to lead Ole Miss into the record books by winning out for the team’s first 10-win regular season in program history. If the Rebels win their three remaining games, it would also be the first 11-win season program history.

Ole Miss host Vanderbilt (2-8, 0-6) at 6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday. The game will air on the SEC Network.
