Ole Miss players were busy taking phone calls on the final day of the NFL Draft as offensive lineman Nick Broeker becomes the third selected on Saturday.

Broeker was taken by the Buffalo Bills as the 13th pick of the seventh round and 230th overall pick. The final round was around where he was projected to be taken by most mock drafts in the final week leading up to the draft.

Following the 2021 season Broeker tested the waters of the NFL Draft process and after receiving his initial evaluations made the decision to return to Ole Miss for another season and bolster his draft stock. His decision also helped bolster depth along the offensive line for the Rebels for another year.

The move included shifting positions along the offensive line from tackle to guard, which is what ESPN has him labeled as in their draft profile.

Going through the process once helped Broeker be prepared for his second time through the rigors of the NFL Draft machine. He also took part in the the Senior Bowl in January, providing more reps for NFL scouts to see along with game film.

“Just a lot of positives,” Broeker said of the draft process following the Ole Miss Pro Day. “(NFL teams) really like the transition for me — going from tackle to guard, but still having that tackle background. A lot of versatility, a lot of intelligence. So far, it’s been positive feedback.”

Broeker joins another former Ole Miss player in tight end Dawson Knox who just completed his third season with the Bills.

With the selection of Broeker Ole Miss ended the 2023 NFL Draft with four players selected with three taken on Saturday. Tavius Robinson and Zach Evans went ahead of Broeker on the final day of the draft while Jonathan Mingo went in the second round on Friday.
