Kewan Lacy puts the game on ice with a 54-yard touchdown run. That felt like it had been bubbling all night and he finally breaks through.

The offense has been great from the 20 to the 20 but the red zone stuff has been questionable, at best. Once again settle for a Carniero field goal, this one from 34 yards out, to make it a two-score game again.

END OF 3RD QUARTER: No. 7 OLE MISS 20, SOUTH CAROLINA 14

Suntarine Perkins has shown it rarely this season but that was good closing speed to get the sack on Sellers. Gamecocks will punt it away, again.

Three questionable play calls after the gift from the Gamecocks leads to another Carniero field goal.

The bad decision by Chambliss bailed out by the muffed punt from the Gamecocks to give the Rebels new life inside the South Carolina 15

Chambliss has had at least three times tonight where he had open field in front of him and instead of running it he makes a poor throwing decision.

Gamecocks got the ball to start the second half and the Rebels continue to self-inflict and not get out of their own way. A pass interference call on Ricky Fletcher negated an interception. A few plays later Sellers hit Nyck Harber for a 47 yard touchdown pass.

HALFTIME: No. 7 OLE MISS 17, SOUTH CAROLINA 7

Chambliss with his worst throw of the game is picked off by Jalon Kilgore at the Gamecocks 18. A chance to extend the lead blown by that mistake with the Gamecocks getting the ball to start the second half.

Chambliss calls his own number for the 15-yard touchdown run and Ole Miss has some breathing room after a sluggish start.

Princewill Umanmielen is coming alive the last couple of weeks. A big sack on third down forces another Gamecocks punt. Their offense has not looked the same since the touchdown possession.

END OF 1ST QUARTER: No. 7 OLE MISS 10, SOUTH CAROLINA 7

Ole Miss 10, South Carolina 7 1:28 1st Qtr

Two plays later Chambliss makes an elite throw across his body to find Dae’Quan wright for the touchdown. Rebels in front for the first time tonight.

The Rebels defense makes the stop when South Carolina opts to go for it 4th and 1. Andrew Jones makes the tackle for loss when the Gamecocks choose to run sideways when needing a one-yard gain.

South Carolina 7, Ole Miss 3 3:58 1st Qtr

Rebels really needed seven points on that drive but have to settle for a 21-yard field goal try by Lucas Carniero.

If focus was a concern on the first drive it was a little better on the second possession of the game for the Ole Miss offense. But there were mental mistakes. Deuce Alexander with a long reception but then a penalty by him when he was not lined up on the line of scrimmage costs the Rebels.

Very out of sync tart for the Rebels, outside of the fake punt play. Reminiscent of the sluggish start against Washington State.

South Carolina 7, Ole Miss 0 9:13 1st Qtr

Four plays later Sellers cashes in the turnover with a one-yard touchdown run.

Rebels defense gets the gamecocks off the field with a three and out. Then Harrison Wallace muffs the punt return and Gamecocks get it back at the Rebels 16 yard-line.

Chambliss did not look sharp with his passes on the first possession of the game. The run game appears to be there, though with he and Lacy having some decent gains.

Turnover on down for Ole Miss at the South Carolina 36 yard-line.

Lane Kiffin deep in his playbook early as the Rebels went for the fake punt on fourth and long with Oscar Bird executing it to perfection. Wasn’t so lucky on the second fourth down attempt as Chambliss could not connect with Winston Watkins.

Stewart got the start for the Gamecocks after being a game-time decision.

Ole Miss won the toss and opted to receive.

No. 7 Ole Miss is back in Oxford for its final homestand of the regular season and first of four games in the state of Mississippi to close out the season.

First up is South Carolina (3-5, 1-5 Southeastern Conference) that is coming in after a crushing loss to Alabama last week. The Rebels (7-1, 4-1) are looking for back-to-back wins over the Gamecocks after winning at Columbia last season.

Both defenses could be without a key player. Ole Miss defensive back Antonio Kite and South Carolina defensive end Dylan Stewart are listed as game-time decisions on the final availability report released on Saturday.

Kite is dealing with a hamstring injury he suffered against the Sooners while Stewart is dealing with an injury suffered a few weeks back.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT on ESPN. Keep this page open for updates, scores and highlights once the game gets underway.
