Snoop Conner left college early, bet on himself and won as he is getting his shot at a NFL career.

Drafted early on day three of last month’s NFL Draft, Conner was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fifth round and was the third Ole Miss player to be taken in the draft.

Last week it was reported that Conner put pen to paper and signed with the Jaguars, joining former Ole Miss teammates Matt Corral and Sam Williams as newly minted NFL players.

One person who is excited to see what Conner can do and bring to the Jaguars franchise is former teammate Kentrel Bullock.

“It wasn’t shocking but you know that was big time,” Said Bullock, an exclusive NIL partner of the Ole Miss Spirit, of seeing Conner drafted. Bullock is sponsored by Empire Express Trucking Co. Located in Memphis, Tenn., they can be reached at 901-942-3300.

“He really didn’t get what he wanted but he took the opportunity that he had and he made it work.”

Conner is viewed by some as one of the Jaguars best picks from their draft class, aside from No. 1 overall pick defensive end Travon Walker.

Travis Etienne, Jr. is the starter but there is a chance Conner can make some waves during rookie camp and summer workouts that he could find himself move up the depth chart come camp time.

While the Jaguars did not ask Bullock his thoughts on what they are getting in his former teammate, the junior running back feels Conner is going to be a welcome addition to their locker room.

“He’s a great leader,” Bullock said. “He’s going to do what they ask. He’s going to go overboard.”

Conner was not the only Ole Miss running back to get their shot at the NFL. Jerrion Ealy was an undrafted free agent and signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.

“Ealy did a hell of a job and he deserves it,” Bullock said. “That was a blessing for him, too. He deserves a lot and with the things he’s got going now I think he’s going to be a great player.”

But now, Bullock is putting his focus on improving his game and stock to maybe draw the eyes of NFL scouts next spring.

Summer break is in for the football team and everyone is back in their respective hometowns or somewhere working out in a training facility.

With a couple months left to themselves, Bullock is taking full advantage and reflecting back on his spring.

“I feel like it was a good spring. I feel like I got things I could improve on,” Bullock said. “I feel like it was a great spring where we competed and having different backs in the room and competing with them.”
