Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin had a hell of a final summer weekend prior to fall camp starting on Monday. They added two On3 Consensus four-stars and a three-star tight end. Then, they added a fourth commitment Sunday evening when Southwest Mississippi Community College offensive tackle Izavion Miller announced his verbal commitment on Twitter.

The Memphis, Tenn., prospect chose the Rebels over offers from Jackson State, Memphis and USF. The 6-foot-7, 330 pound lineman recruit is a December graduate and will report to Oxford, Miss., in January upon leaving Summit, Miss.

Miller was lightly recruited out of Wooddale High School and chose to sign with Southwest Mississippi and see if things would pick up after playing junior college ball in Mississippi, a league that most consider the best JUCO ball in the country.

Now he will be suiting up for Ole Miss in 2023.

SPIRIT’S TAKE

Ole Miss offensive line coach Jake Thornton has been one of the more impressive recruiters for Kiffin and Ole Miss once he got the gig. He has been someone who has had a keen eye for talent and he seems to be a believer in the big fella from Tennessee. Miller will almost certainly need some time to get acclimated to Power 5 football but he has a ready-made frame and could slide into a right tackle spot in a few years.
