If anyone has been under a rock it is time to let them in on the news that Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins is very, very good. So much so that the hype for his sophomore season continues to grow.

As the calendar hits mid May and the summer doldrums arrive before college football cranks back up in August the hype train for Judkins is not slowing down any time soon.

On Thursday On3 released its lost of the ‘Top 100 Players in College Football for the 2023 Season’ and Ole Miss finds its top running back high on the list. Complied by On3’s Charles Power and Clark Brooks the list is released with 100 days to go before Week Zero of the 2023 season arrives.

Judkins is listed as the 15th best player heading into this season, cracking a Top 20 that includes Southern California quarterback Caleb Williams leading the way at No. 1.

Not only is Judkins considered one of the top 15 players this season Judkins is also the second best overall running back according to Brooks and Power. Michigan running back Blake Corum comes in just ahead of Judkins at No. 14.

“At running back, Blake Corum was in the Heisman mix prior to his late season injury and Quinshon Judkins had a sensational freshman year at Ole Miss,” Power said.

Judkins was one of 10 running backs to make the list and one of three Southeastern Conference backs to get selected. Arkansas’ Raheim Sanders was ranked No. 36 — who was in a tight battle with Judkins for the SEC rushing crown — and Auburn’s Jarquez Hunter entered the list at No. 56.

What might be more interesting is Judkins is the only Ole Miss player to make a list of the best 100 players.

This is another strong quarterback class that is anchored by Williams with North Carolina’s Drake Maye right behind him at No. 2. Washington’s Michael Penix, Jr. is ranked at No. 11 with Oregon’s Bo Nix at No. 13.

Jaxson Dart earned the starting job for Ole Miss three games into the 2022 season but does not find himself among the 10 quarterbacks who did make the Top 100 list. This could be due to the fact Dart is once again in a position battle with Spencer Sanders coming over from Oklahoma State.

Dart was the de-facto No. 1 during spring practice as Sanders dealt with a shoulder injury that occurred prior to getting to Oxford. Sanders started to show his strengths as the four week progressed, giving signs that another fall camp quarterback battle could be Dart’s future.

Judkins is the only Ole Miss player that made On3s list of the Top 100 players for the 2023 campaign, which begins for the Rebels on Sept. 2 against Mercer.
