As Oregon continues its late-season push for an NCAA tournament berth, it sounds as though the Ducks will be without one of their reserve guards for the remainder of the year.

Following Oregon’s blowout win over Cal Thursday night, Dana Altman said that sophomore guard Brennan Rigsby’s season is over due to injury.

“Brennan has broken a finger and he’s out for the year,” said Altman.

During a media availability last week, Altman said that Rigsby was dealing with a sprained ankle. He missed the Ducks’ win at Oregon State last Saturday, but Altman was optimistic this week that Rigsby would return for the Cal game.

It is unclear when his latest injury occurred.

In 21 games this season, including eight starts, Rigsby averaged 4.2 points per game on 40 percent shooting. The 6-foot-3 sophomore transferred in from Northwest Florida State College during the offseason and was expected to contend for a starting spot, but was hindered by a preseason foot injury that delayed his season debut until Dec. 1.

Rigsby was an integral part of the Ducks’ rotation early in conference play but saw his playing time dip once Jermaine Couisnard and Keeshawn Barthelemy each returned from their respective injuries.

Oregon was also without redshirt junior forward Lök Wur against the Golden Bears on Thursday. The Pac-12 Network reported during the game that Wur was in concussion protocol.

“Lök is going to be out on Saturday again,” Altman said. “He got banged around in practice, so he’s out. Hopefully, we get him back for the tournament.”

In 23 games this season, Wur is averaging 2.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in a career-high 9.9 minutes per game. He gave the Ducks some big minutes during last Saturday’s win at Oregon State, and Altman noted during his postgame press conference that evening that he planned to increase Wur’s role within the team due to his strong defensive contributions.

But now, Oregon will have to wait until the conference tournament to get Wur back on the floor.

The Ducks (17-13, 11-8 Pac-12) will close out the regular season with senior night on Saturday when they host Stanford (13-17, 7-12) at 1 p.m. at Matthew Knight Arena.

With a win against the Cardinal, Oregon would leapfrog Arizona State in the conference standings and move into fourth place. That would secure the Ducks a first-round bye in the conference tournament, which kicks off March 8 at Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas.
