Decision Time on Several Oregon Football Recruiting Targets
Dan Lanning and his staff have put in the work. The final official visit weekend has come and gone and now all that is left is the announcements.
Signing day is two days away and the Ducks are in the thick of it for a handful of guys. Which means we are likely on ‘Quack Watch’ which really shouldn’t be a hot take for the next 48 (ish) hours.
Here is a quick and preliminary round up on the announced ‘announcement’ times for many of the Ducks remaining targets.
As a reminder, offensive lineman Josh Conerly from Rainier Beach (Wash.) is not planning on announcing this week. Also transfer targets do not have to sign on Wednesday either.
Monday – January 31 2:00 PM PST
Choices: Oregon, USC
On January 26 both USC insider Scott Schrader and myself put in predictions to Oregon. Just ahead of us was national recruiting expert Chad Simmons with a 60-percent pick on January 18.
The five predictions on 247Sports were made in August just prior to his original commitment to Oregon.
Following his official visit to Oregon this weekend, I feel very confident in my pick.

Wednesday – February 2 7:00 AM PST
3-Star DB Jaelyn Davis-Robinson
Choices: Oregon, LSU, Wyoming, Boston College
So far there are only a single prediction on each On3 and 247Sports. Both are in favor of LSU. As I alluded to Monday morning, should Oregon score Jahlil Florence’s commitment, that might be it for JDR.
Oregon did and it seems as though this one is now trending away from the Ducks given the success they had recruiting cornerbacks in January.
Wednesday – February 2 9:00 AM PST
Choices: Oregon, Georgia, Florida
On January 26 both national recruiting expert Chad Simmons and I put in picks for Oregon. (I beat him by about 3 hours and 10 minutes. I’m currently at a 75-percent confidence level and will hold there.
About 24 hours later 247Sports analysts made a slew of ‘flip picks’ for Oregon to flip the Georgia commit as well.

Choices: Oregon, Georgia, Clemson, Michigan, Colorado
Paul never ended up visiting Oregon so I’m not sure if they’ll even have a hat on the table. But I thought some might ask so I included him anyways.
On January 25 I made a pick for Georgia. Since that pick Chad Simmons and Jeremy Johnson have joined.
247Sports analysts made 4 predictions for Paul starting yesterday following his official visit to Athens.
He is expected to announce live on CBS Sports HQ.
Wednesday – February 2 3:30 PM PST
Choices: Oregon, Miami, USC
Iuli is also coming off an official visit to Oregon. The buzz is currently surrounding Miami.
There are currently no predictions made on his On3 profile. There are five on his 247Sports profile with two of them made back in July. The latest three from Gaby Urrutia (Miami insider), Brandon Huffman and Steve Wiltfong.
I will make my final prediction on Iuli on Tuesday.
