Dan Lanning has added another major piece for Oregon by way of the transfer portal.

Former UCLA wide receiver Chase Cota announced Friday afternoon that he has committed to continue his career at Oregon.

Cota, a former 4-star recruit who starred at South Medford in Southern Oregon, played four seasons for UCLA. In 2021, he caught 18 passes for 286 yards and a touchdown. Throughout his four years as a Bruin, he tallied 883 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

He was ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 159 overall prospect in the class of 2018 and the No. 29 overall receiver.

Cota will provide a much-needed veteran presence to an Oregon receiver room that graduated seniors Johnny Johnson III and Jaylon Redd and lost its leading pass-catcher, Devon Williams, to the NFL Draft.
