Former Oregon women’s basketball guard Oti Gildon, who served on Kelly Graves’ Ducks staff for each of the past two seasons, has officially landed her first college coaching job.

On Tuesday, Seattle University announced that Gildon has been added as an assistant coach and will work under longtime head coach Suzy Barcomb.

“We are thrilled to announce Oti Gildon as a new edition to our staff,” said Barcomb said in a statement. “Oti will be instrumental in the development of our players, both on the court and in the community. Her collegiate career speaks volumes to her high basketball IQ and ability to compete at a high level, allowing her to have an immediate impact on our program, particularly with our posts and forwards.

“Her familiarity with the Pacific Northwest in terms of recruiting will be an added benefit.”

For the past two years, Gildon has served as Oregon’s director of creativity and student support. Her role included video coordination as well as camp staging and promotion, among other duties.

Before she joined Graves’ staff, though, Gildon was a key player for the Ducks during the most successful stretch in program history.

In four seasons in Eugene, Gildon played in 143 games — the third-most ever by an Oregon player. She averaged 4.1 points and 2.9 rebounds throughout her career while playing forward.

During her senior season in 2018-19, Gildon saw a career-high in playing time and averaged 4.6 points in 16.3 minutes per game.

After her collegiate career included, Gildon played one professional season for Lombos Quina in Portugal and averaged 16.8 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.

“I am excited to join the Redhawk family,” Gildon said in a statement. “I am looking forward to getting started. The best is yet to come.”
