INSTANT: Oregon's CFP Dreams Come Crashing Down in SLC

It started ugly, which is nothing new for Oregon on the road in 2021. But much like Palo Alto, the Ducks could not overcome on Saturday night against Utah.

Unlike Palo Alto, this was as ugly as it gets.

Oregon crashed to earth, 38-7, in a game far less competitive than the final blood-splattered score indicates.

A two-minute stretch to end the first half is all you needed to watch.

Trailing 14-0, and set to receive the ball to start the seconf half, Oregon found themselves with a first down inside the red zone, threatening to make it a game. Then…

Missed field goal.

Surrendered touchdown.

Three and out.

Utah punt return for a touchdown to end the half. Down 14 to down 28 in a flash, the game, the playoffs, and the makeup of a patched-together team wiped away in an instance.

Oregon now heads home to face the Beavers with a north division crown still on the line. Comically, a Rose Bowl berth is, too, despite the Ducks looking woefully outmatched.
