Pac-12 Releases Statement Regarding Conference Expansion
On Friday the Pac-12 released this statement following the latest conference re-alignment moves.
This comes a day after USC and UCLA formally announced they would be joining the Big Ten conference.
“The Pac-12 Board of Directors met this morning and authorized the Conference to explore all expansion options. The 10 university presidents and chancellors remain committed to a shared mission of academic and athletic excellence on behalf of our student-athletes.”
Oregon, Washington and others have been linked to the Big Ten as well. At the moment the fate of the remaining Pac-12 programs is uncertain.
Most of the speculation centers around Notre Dame and a potential decision from them on joining the Big Ten, which most believe is the next move.
Dennis Dodd from CBS posted this update moments before this release came from the Pac-12.
