ScoopDuck Roundtable: Other Games Worth Watching
We know you’ll all have your eyes on Oregon as they host Washington in the afternoon Saturday. But there are some tremendous games around college football this weekend.
This is a valuable weekend that will shape Oregon’s future and it’s potential playoff matchup. Which right now isn’t the most favorable. But it will certainly change in the next two weeks.
Here are the games we are looking forward to watching this weekend.
Linden Hile: Clemson vs South Carolina
While not massive in playoff implications, this has the potential to be one of the best games of the weekend. Clemson has quietly rebounded well from an early-season whipping at the hands of Georgia and is now the second-best team in the ACC for my money.
On the other side is South Carolina who has surged down the stretch of this year and fields a rising dual-threat star at quarterback in LaNorris Sellers. I think this in-state rivalry game will deliver and make one of these teams much more relevant in the playoff picture.

Max Torres: Texas @ Texas A&M
Texas is looking to take the SEC by storm in year one and what better way could you end the regular season than with a rivalry win against the Aggies in College Station? The Longhorns are viewed as the likely favorite heading into this one, but maybe Mike Elko and the Aggies can make this one tough on them at Kyle Field. All bets are off during rivalry games and I wouldn’t be surprised if this ends up being a game that’s closer than some expect.
Collin King: South Carolina @ Clemson
Two top 25 teams currently, and a major rivalry game makes for a fantastic matchup this Saturday. Both teams are likely out of playoff contention at this point, but have both had very good showings, and horrific showings. This game will come down to who has the more consistent QB and who’s defense can get off the field. South Carolina has the better defense, but can Lanorris Sellers get the job done?
Jhop: Michigan @ Ohio State
Ain’t nobody picking the most important game so I guess I will. This one will shape who Oregon faces in the Big Ten championship game. And we know everyone will have eyes on this one. A rivalry that definitely moves the needle nationally. Is this Ryan day’s year finally? A few weeks ago this looked like a slam dunk, but Michigan has shown some sings of life offensively. Come on Wolverines, you got this in you.
