Penn State football will host its final camp of June on Friday.

Over at the IM fields, the program will welcome nearly 60 schools from around the Mid-Atlantic for the second 7-on-7 tournament of the summer. Meanwhile, at Holuba Hall, the lineman on hand will participate in a big man challenge event.

Blue-White Illustrated will have continuing coverage from both as the Lions look to close out June on a high note. Back on Wednesday, we took a closer look at the top prospects who were expected to be on hand. Now, we’re picking three we can’t wait to see on offense and defense. Do note that this list is subject to change based on last-minute scheduling changes.

Three we can’t wait to see on offense

We start with a Penn State commit.

Our list was to start with Ejani Shakir. The 6-foot, 175-pound four-star receiver from Atco, N.J., Winslow Twp., picked the Lions on May 11. However, his team will no longer be able to participate in Friday’s event. So, we’re going with Aliquippa Class of 2025 athlete Tiqwai Hayes. A running back for the Quips, he already checks in at 5-foot-10, 190 pounds and holds seven Power-5 offers, including one from Penn State. How will he look against older competition? That’s one thing we’ll watch, but he figures to star regardless.

Next up is On300 receiver Elijah Moore. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Class of 2024 prospect has 11 offers. His list includes Penn State, USC, and many others. He and Good Counsel quarterback Frankie Weaver should have a field day on Friday.

Last but not least, Good Counsel running back Dilin Jones has our attention. He’s a four-star recruit already and the nation’s No. 220 player in the On3 Consensus rankings. Jones does not yet have a Penn State offer but numerous Power Five options. We’re curious to see if what he does on Friday makes the Lions make a move.

Players who just missed our cut include Good Counsel lineman Kyle Alturner and Susquehanna Township 2025 receiver Lex Cyrus. We also wonder if Tovani Mizell will be on hand. The four-star Class of 2024 running back is transferring to DeMatha Catholic from a school in Florida.

Three names we’ll be watching at Penn State on defense Friday

There is only one logical place to start here, and that’s with Good Counsel linebacker Aaron Chiles. The four-star Class of 2024 recruit is already in the top 60 of the On3 Consensus rankings. He already has a bunch of Power Five offers and his recruitment will be one of the Mid-Atlantic’s most hotly contested ones in the next cycle. Chiles stands 6-foot-3, 220 pounds.

Moving on, Philadelphia Imhotep Charter corner Kenneth Woseley Jr., figures to draw plenty of eyeballs on Friday. Penn State is one of 21 programs that has offered the 5-foot-10, 155-pound On300 prospect. He should have some good matchups with the top receivers on hand, which will make for a great evaluation opportunity.

We wrap this section up with Neumann Goretti four-star defensive lineman Deshon Dodson. He’ll be one if not the best big man on hand. Already, the Class of 2024 recruit checks in at 6-foot-4, 270 pounds and is the No. 182 player and No. 18 defensive lineman in the On3 Consensus rankings. Unfortunately, Malvern Prep four-star offensive lineman Peter Jones won’t be on hand to matchup with Dodson. But, he should still see plenty of good competition to test his skills against.

Players who were considered but just missed the cut include four-star Aliquippa linebacker Cameron Lindsey and 2025 Winslow Twp., corner Cam Miller.
