Nicholas Singleton took the opening kickoff off the second half for a touchdown, but it’s coming back because of holding. Justin Lustig spiked his hat and is furious on the sideline. Luke Reynolds’ hold wipes a TD off the board. So, Penn State starts at its own 20.

Halftime: Penn State 28, Washington 0. It was the best 30 minutes of the year for the Lions. They are 7 of 7 on third down, 4 of 4 in the red zone, and have a 264-71 yards advantage.

Tyler Warren capped off a pretty Penn State drive with a two-yard touchdown run. The Lions now lead Washington 14-0 with 9:22 to go in the first half. Drew Allar was sharp on that drive and connected with Trey Wallace a couple of times on the 14-play, 80-yard drive that took 6:28.

Thaddeus Dixon has been ejected for targeting. The Washington defensive back was tossed after video review of a tackle on Lions receiver Omari Evnas. One play later, Beau Pribula ran in from eight yards out. PSU leads Washington 7-0 with 3:47 left in the first quarter. Nick Singleton looked great on that drive, as well.

Washington’s field goal is no good to end its first drive. Grady Gross has not had a good 2024 and just banged that one off the upright. James Franklin was furious before the 45-yard attempt as delay of game should have been called but wasn’t. Didn’t matter. PSU takes over with 7:48 left in the 1Q. It has the ball at its own 27.

For Penn State, receiver Kaden Saunders, safety KJ Winston Jr., running back Cam Wallace, linebackers Keon Wylie, tight end Joey Schlaffer, defensive end Zuriah Fisher, and tight end Andrew Rappleyea, and kicker Sander Sahaydak are OUT. Lions defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton and defensive tackle Coziah Izzard are questionable.

Sahaydak and Schlaffer are new additions to the out list. Notably, running back Quinton Martin Jr., isn’t listed and thus could play in his fourth game of the season tonight. Izzard is a new addition to the questionable list.

For Washington, there are no starters or key reserves out. The Huskies appear to be healthy.
