Offensive tackle Jack Fuchs flips commitment from Penn State to Northwestern

Offensive tackle Jack Fuchs announced on Oct. 20 that while he was still committed to Penn State, he had also started speaking with other schools. Now, the 6-foot-8, 295-pound lineman is officially no longer part of Penn State’s 2026 class, flipping his commitment to Northwestern on Tuesday evening. His decision comes just a few days after he took an official visit to Evanston this past weekend. Fuchs also took an unofficial visit to Kentucky a few weeks ago.
A resident of Hendersonville, Tenn., Fuchs camped at Penn State in June 2024 and eventually earned an offer this past February. He and his family then came to State College for an extended visit in April, in part because his father, Tennessee Titans assistant coach Scott Fuchs, coached with offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki at Kansas. The families have remained close ever since.
“Coach K’s wife and my mom are best friends,” Fuchs said. “Of course, Coach K and my dad are really good friends, too, so my parents figured if we’re going to go up there, we might as well make it a mini vacation.”

That’s when the Nittany Lions emerged as the team to beat, but he did still take official visits to Indiana and Kentucky in June. Penn State hosted him for the final weekend in June, which is also when he committed.

“My top two schools ended up being Kentucky and Penn State,” Fuchs said. “I never really had a dream school growing up, just because I moved all over. So, for me, I just focused on taking it all in and seeing what they all had to offer. I knew it would be a really hard decision, and the two schools were really close, but in the end, I ended up going with Penn State.”
According to the Industry Rankings, Fuchs is ranked No. 433 nationally. He’s the 34th-ranked offensive tackle and No. 13 in Tennessee for the 2026 class. Earlier today, former Penn State commit and three-star defensive tackle Isaac Chukwurah announced that he had flipped his commitment to Miami. The Nittany Lions are now down to 15 commitments in the 2026 class. They’ve now had 11 players open up their commitments or flip to other schools.
